LEARNING DISABILITIES

Learning Disabilities  are neurological disorders that are the basis for deficiencies in academic performance(1). Learning Disabilities, or learning differences, reflect a core deficit in the ability of an individual to master the basic academic principals upon which all future learning is based due to a neurological condition. Learning disabilities are typically present at an early age and the academic performance of the individual typically is well below that of their peers. Currently, there are no medications approved to treat the core symptoms of Learning Disabilities.

Neurofeedback is a non-invasive, neurological treatment for Learning Disabilities that promotes change and growth in the brain to help it function more effectively. Neurofeedback has been used to effectively treat core symptoms of Learning Disabilities(2) including Dyslexia(3). Research supports the use of neurofeedback to reduce the symptoms of Learning Disabilities(4) without risk of serious adverse side effects(5). In fact, individuals who used neurofeedback to improve the symptoms of their Learning Differences reported continued improvement 24 months after the treatment was completed(6).
